1 Idea Convert a Shipping Container into a Tiny Home

You’ve all seen the Pinterest ideas or the Tiny House Nation. They take an ordinary shipping container and convert it into a liveable space—a tiny house.

Sounds simple, right! The TV shows and internet programs take you through the process in a half-hour to an hour. And then you think to yourself, “Simple, I can do that too.”

Well, 4 Walls Overnight – We’re more like reality TV meets blogging. Share our journey as we attempt our shipping container conversion.

Alternative Living Spaces

What was the defining moment when we said, “we want to live in a shipping container”? And what if you could live inside a shipping container while still enjoying all the comforts of home? That’s precisely what we did. Share our journey as we convert a shipping container into an inhabitable space.

  • We’ll tell you and show you what really happens as we try to make our dream a reality.
  • We’ll share the products we use, the challenges we face, how much it costs, and how long it really takes.

Why would you want to live in a shipping container?

Thanks to Google Photos, I could remember the exact moment when this idea took shape.

In 2016, we lived in one of the smallest apartments we had ever lived in all the years we were married. We were fixing up our friend’s apartment while living there rent-free.

We had to figure out how to fit all of our stuff into the small space of that tiny apartment. That made us realize that we could actually live in a smaller area than we thought. That’s when we concluded we could build our own custom tiny container house. We ended up using two 40ft shipping containers, adequate enough to make a home that fits our needs.

And 1 DREAM is born.
