Yes, the name “tiny house” usually means NO storage, right? WRONG! Call me optimistic, but I dream Big. Have you been wondering if it’s possible to have a walk-in closet in your tiny house or shipping container home? Well, our answer is YES.
Some people would call a walk-in closet a luxury upgrade, but it is a necessity for me. We asked ourselves: “What is the tiniest walk-in closet we could make?” The answer we came up with was the inside dimensions of 6 feet by 4 feet. We didn’t want the hallway to the bathroom to feel too tight and cramped for space.
Because getting organized was so important to us, we worked rather quickly on this closet, which took about four days to complete, except for the ceiling and flooring. To cut costs of renting a house, we moved in after the bathroom and kitchen were finished. So a closet was one of the first things we tackled.
Our total cost for this closet came out to $205 USD
We made sure that we hade enough support in the wall to sustain the shelving and all of the weight we put on it.
